The editorial published on May 02/08 “Secular and Antidemocratic” promotes disinformation. The only thing correct about the editorial is part of the last sentence: “United States has a vital interest in the success of (…….) the moderate Islamic party that now leads it”. Indeed, the moderate Islamic party said to be brought and being kept in power by the makers of the Greater Middle East plan, which aims to carve out eastern part of Turkey to create greater Kurdistan controlling the major rivers and oil fields of the Middle East, under the continuous protection of USA.
Turkey, by its constitution, is (was) a laic and democratic state. Terminology used in your article; “moderate Islamist state” and democracy, is an oxymoron.
In secularism, both the State and the Church co-exist in the public domain, but are separate from each other and do not interfere with each other. That means that the Church would not get into politics, and the State would not interfere in religion.
Muslim religion accepts Prophet Mohammed’s writings, Koran, as the words of God. Therefore, it cannot and has never have been changed. The law of the religion is Sharia, and more importantly, it is the law to govern not only the religion but the people, as well. Therefore since there cannot be two sets of laws to govern in a democracy, there can be no democracy where secularism and Sharia are expected to co-exist. In a country where the overwhelming percentage of the population is Muslim, democracy can only exist with laicism. In laicism the church is totally excluded from the public domain. The public domain belongs completely to the State. That is why if democracy is expected to exist in a Muslim country, there must be laicism. And that is why Turkey is the only democratic country amongst the Muslim nations.
As Condoleezza Rice said, any case will be judged by the court of law, and by its democratic principles. The army and the 53 % of the population which did not vote for the USA backed Islamist government, are not attempting “radical undemocratic maneuvers”, but defending the very essence of democracy.
As it happened many times before, USA is siding with the wrong party and is on the way to destroy the only democracy in the Muslim world, while claiming to protect it.

Based on information received I am re-sending my letter reduced to 200 words.
Subject: editorial published on May 02/ 2008 “Secular and Antidemocratic”
Reason: Information in the editorial is incorrect and missleading.
I write articles to Strategy section of the national Turkish Newspaper Cumhuriyet.
May 02 editorial, “Secular and Antidemocratic”, misinforms. Only, part of last sentence is correct: “United States has a vital interest in the success of (…….) the moderate Islamic party that now leads it”. Makers of the Great Middle East plan, who supports “Moderate Islamic party”, aims to carve out eastern Turkey for greater Kurdistan, to control rivers and oil fields of Middle East, under USA protection.
“Moderate Islamist state” and democracy, is an oxymoron.
In secularism, both the State and the Church co-exist in the public domain, without interfering with each other.
Muslims accepts Koran, as the words of God, and never been changed. There can’t be democracy, if the Sharia, law to govern and court of low co-exist. In Muslim countries, democracy can only exist with laicism where Sharia is out of public domain, public domain belongs completely to the State.
That is why laic Turkey is the only democratic country amongst Muslim nations.
53 % who did not vote for the USA backed Islamist government, are not attempting “radical undemocratic maneuvers”, but defending the very essence of democracy.
Again siding with the wrong party, USA is destroying the only democracy in the Muslim world, while claiming to protect.
